Wednesday 25 August 2021 – 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. | No cost
Castro Valley Natural Grocery | 3295 Castro Valley Blvd., Castro Valley, California

Our East Bay Natural Grocers bees have been busy and soon you will have the opportunity to bring some hyper local liquid gold home with you.

On Wednesday August 25, our beekeeper Mike of The Bee Ranchers will be extracting our hyper-local honey live at the Castro Valley Market.

We love bees in our business, we keep 4 beehives on the roofs of Alameda and Castro Valley markets in addition to sponsoring several others in our communities. Honey is beautiful and all, but the real reason we keep bees is because they feed us and need our protection.

Bees have supported ecosystems for tens of millions of years and are responsible for pollinating about 90% of the world’s nutrition. It’s a big problem.

Maybe you’ve seen one of our bees walking around town, then this would be a great time for you and your families to have a direct connection to their work.

Come and see for yourself the final stages of the manufacturing process of fresh honey, extracted, spun and bottled directly on site. Between our two sites, we should have about 400 pounds of fresh local honey.

Mike has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things bees. This is a great opportunity to learn all about beekeeping, bees, honey and any other bee questions you have.

* Bee * you then.
