Manila Vice Mayor Ma. Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan submitted his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for mayor of Manila in the 2022 local elections on Wednesday (October 6th).
Lacuna and his running mate, Manila representative Yul Servo Nieto deposited their COC at the Elections Commission (Comelec) located at Arroceros in Ermita, Manila around 9 a.m.
The vice mayor officially launched their tandem on Wednesday in Baluarte de San Diego, Intramuros, Manila.
Lacuna will be the nation’s first female mayor if she wins the mayoral race in May 2022.
Lacuna led the six district hospitals in the nation’s capital and the Manila Department of Health (MHD) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
She is committed to continuing all projects and programs initiated by Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso if she wins the elections.
Lacuna also pledged to further improve the city’s health services by building a “super health center” in every part of the city.
