Several chances of rain this week⦠A stationary front will linger over the mid-Atlantic this week, enclosing a series of clouds, showers and thunderstorms. Expect a mixture of partly to mostly cloudy skies today with occasional showers and thunderstorms possible, mostly in the afternoon. The highs will come back to the lows of the 80s and it will be heavy.
Expect a mixture of clouds with scattered showers for the rest of the week. Temperatures will drop in the mid and above the 70s, but the weather will still be humid. Persistent easterly winds will develop and may trigger minor tidal flooding. Clouds and rain will continue for the weekend.

Sam passes a post-tropical cyclone over the North Atlantic between Newfoundland and Iceland.
A large area of ââdisorganized showers and thunderstorms continues over the southeastern Bahamas and adjacent southwestern Atlantic waters in association with a surface trough. Upper winds are not expected to be favorable for significant tropical development of this system as it moves slowly to the NW over the next few days. By this weekend, the system is expected to interact with a front near the southeast coast of the United States.
