Jack Daniel’s Honey and The Bee Conservancy want the “bee” world to be a better place

September has been a short and pleasant month, fitting in what has recently been dubbed ‘National Honey Month’. As such, the importance of bees in our ecosystem has never been clearer. Jack Daniel’s Honey and The Bee Conservancy have joined forces to remind you to put your honey where your mouth is. Their partnership SAVING THE BEES is a call for awareness and education culminating in a dinner sponsored by the 1 Central Park Hotel which they believe will be an annual event to celebrate each September. The event boasted of lifting honeycombs, art by Lori Tannis and a honey-inspired menu with sustainable ingredients at 1 Central Park Hotel.

The partnership was obvious according to a spokesperson. “Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey supports The Bee Conservancy’s mission and we are aligned with their commitment to protect bees, strengthen habitat and build communities together.”

Also in attendance were Rebecca Louie, Managing Director and Guillermo Fernandez, Founder of The Bee Conservancy and Executive Director. Rebecca’s take on the partnership is clear. “We are very grateful for the support of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey, whose generous donation helps us advance environmental stewardship and protect bees through education, habitat creation and advocacy. Bees are a key species, fundamental to countless ecosystems, and they are in crisis. With 40% of honey bee colonies failing each year and 1 in 4 of the 4,000 native North American bee species threatened with extinction, it is essential to protect the precious pollinators responsible for 1 in 3 mouthfuls of honey bee. food we eat, which pollinates 80% of the world’s flowering plants.

The Honeybee Conservancy was founded in 2009 by Guillermo Fernandez. His actions were in direct response to the decline of bees which he saw as a global crisis. In 2020, The Honeybee Conservancy became The Bee Conservancy with a special focus on “protecting all bees and ensuring environmental and food justice through education, research, habitat creation and advocacy. Bee Conservancy initiatives, such as its flagship Sponsor-a-Hive program, have served hundreds of thousands of people across the United States and have protected approximately 10 million bees to date.

Honey is sweet, but Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey makes it even sweeter by donating $ 50,000 to The Bee Conservancy to bring together and celebrate the importance of saving bees, culminating in an auction for prizes as well. soft. The winners are announced on September 30. The last second chance to bid can be found here with all profits going directly to Conservation of bees.

Bernd Pichler, General Manager of 1 Hotel Central Park, knew without a doubt that the partnership was perfect. “As a sustainability pioneer in the hospitality industry, embracing the natural world is second nature to us at 1 Hotel Central Park. The opportunity to host the Jack Honey Dinner in Support of Bee Conservation during National Honey Month, ending Fashion Week with trends that will never go out of style – like sustainable efforts and bee conservation, l one of the city’s most iconic times of year, is immensely rewarding.

The members of each team all felt called to action. Pablo Lopez, LITO Creative claims to offer similar feelings. “The goal of our boutique agency is to connect communities and amplify meaningful causes through moments of experience – big and small brands. This project aims to create a memorable dining experience with the focus on Saving the Bees was one that we thought all of our friends would love to attend and that is exactly how it all went. Highlighting the efforts of The Bee Conservancy and ways to help save the bees turned out extremely rewarding. ”

Too late to participate in the auction? No problem. Said Jack Daniel’s team. “Right now, we work primarily with Bee Conservancy to help publicize their mission, in addition to our monetary contribution. This is the first year that we’ve donated to TBC and we’re excited to help them get their message out. We have also teamed up with Texas Roadhouse Connect all to help raise awareness and raise funds.
