Honey Singh assures Delhi court he will not sell villa in UAE, court overturns standstill order


The lawyer who appeared for Honey Singh argued that a restriction on the business cannot be created.

Singer Honey Singh, after recording his statement in a Delhi court on Friday, assured the court that he would not create any third party rights to his UAE property. The court overturned the standstill order issued on September 15, 2021.

As of the last court date, the court had prevented Honey Singh from alienating or creating any third party interest held directly or through its companies and ordered her to file all documents from its registered companies with the stranger with other details. The same was not filed Friday by Honey Singh.

Senior lawyer Rebecca John, who has represented Honey Singh, argued that a court in a domestic case cannot make an order about a business. It was also argued that a restriction on the business cannot be created.

After formal arguments, Metropolitan Magistrate Tania Singh registered the assurance / statement of the attorney representing Honey Singh to the effect that he will not create any third party rights / sell his property in the UAE, and will also file the documents of the company and on this matter insurance, therefore quashed the standstill order issued at the last hearing date.

Meanwhile, Honey Singh’s attorney assured that they would not sell the identified villa in the meantime and would also file all documents relating to her overseas registered companies by the next court date. The case is now on the list for further arguments on September 28, 2021.

Honey Singh was represented by Rebecca John Senior Advocate assisted by Ishaan Mukherjee, Pragati Banka, Arjun Parashar of Asia Law Offices. Shalini Talwar (wife of Yo Yo Honey Singh) was represented by Sandeep Kapur, Senior Partner, Apoorva Pandey and GG Kashyap of Karanjawala & Co.

Earlier, the same court issued a notice to Bollywood singer Yo Yo Honey Singh regarding a new claim filed by his wife to prevent him from creating third-party rights to real and personal property owned by or through its companies in the United Arab Emirates.

Wife Shalini Talwar in a new claim argued that Honey Singh being a world famous rapper / singer / music director for many of his overseas shows and mentions, receives payments / remunerations on his bank accounts at the foreigner and, to this end, he incorporated several companies abroad and also bought several properties abroad.

The application stated that Honey Singh had executed a general power of attorney dated November 19, 2019, duly registered in the United Arab Emirates (United Arab Emirates) in favor of the applicant / Shalini Talwar granting her rights and control over all of her movable and immovable property. , located in the United Arab Emirates.

The court was seized of a complaint lodged against the Bollywood singer by his wife under the “Protection of Women Against Domestic Violence Act”.

The plea read: “Honey Singh and others also intimidated the applicant (wife), caused her extreme duress and torture. The applicant (wife) suffered immense pain and injuries from the respondents throughout the marriage. that the respondents engaged in physical, mental, sexual, economic cruelty and immensely tortured the applicant’s wife. As such, the plaintiff’s wife is entitled to compensation of Rs 20 crore from the respondents. “

The complainant urged the court to issue a protection order under section 18 of the Protection of Women Against Domestic Violence Act 2005 and ordered the singer to pay compensation under the PWDV Act of 2005 and release the Stridhan and other documents.

She also sought to provide him with the assistance of protection officers and the police in the execution and enforcement of orders made in her favor and against the respondents.
