EXHORDER's upcoming album will feature songwriting contributions from former CANNIBAL CORPSE guitarist Pat O'Brien. In an interview with The Chill Dude On A Couch, EXHORDER vocalist Kyle Thomas revealed that O'Brien has been writing music for the band's new album, marking a significant shift from his previous role as a solo artist. Thomas expressed his excitement about O'Brien's involvement, noting that the guitarist has been a part of the band for almost four years and has earned the right to contribute to the songwriting process. This marks a departure from the band's previous album, where O'Brien primarily played solos. Thomas also mentioned that O'Brien's technical skills will likely present a challenging yet rewarding experience for him as a guitarist. The band is currently in the process of writing and recording new material, with bassist Jason VieBrooks and drummer Sasha Horn collaborating on new songs and recording demo versions. Thomas, who is also the singer for TROUBLE, is managing the songwriting process while balancing his commitments to both bands. EXHORDER is set to embark on a U.S. headlining tour later this month, with support from LUICIDAL, RINGWORM, PHOBIA, and SLOWHOLE on select dates. The band's latest album, 'Defectum Omnium,' released in March 2024, received critical acclaim and featured ominous cover artwork by Travis Smith. EXHORDER's history dates back to the early 1990s when they released two albums through the Roadrunner label, establishing themselves as pioneers of the riff-heavy power-groove approach popularized by PANTERA. The band has since undergone several lineup changes, with Thomas being the sole remaining founding member. Despite these changes, EXHORDER continues to thrive and deliver new music, with O'Brien's contributions adding a new dimension to their creative process.
