Bernadette Fall 2026: A Celebration of Style and Personality
The fashion world was abuzz with excitement as Bernadette and Charlotte de Geyter unveiled their latest collection, a playful take on ladylike dressing. For their third season in Paris, the Antwerp-based mother-daughter design duo collaborated with Belgian filmmaker Studio Alfons Meyer to create a captivating short film that brought their vision to life.
Titled "The Hostess," the film showcases a group of women preparing to host an elegant party in a grand estate, setting the stage for an exploration of diverse personalities. "Our designs are all about embracing individuality," Charlotte de Geyter explained, highlighting the collection's unique appeal.
The younger de Geyter is the mastermind behind the collection's prints, featuring an array of captivating motifs. From allover delphinium spurs adorning a caftan to a satin evening gown, and a chiné hydrangea print evoking a winter garden, each piece tells a story. Roses and cherry blossoms grace the collection, with a playful twist of juicy berries embroidered onto gowns and delicate velvet evening pouches.
The collection also introduces new shoe styles, including higher-heeled designs and hand-embroidered silk pumps. Cosy knits receive a floral makeover, such as a cozy sweater with an intarsia motif, paired with a fuchsia silk evening gown, and a ribbed khaki cardigan adorned with appliqué embroideries, designed to complement a taffeta mid-length skirt with adorable bows.
Signature ribbon details add a touch of elegance, featured on bright pink pajamas and crushed velvet dresses, accentuating the waist and shoulders. The collection's signature gingham silhouettes receive a modern twist, with asymmetric shoulders and knitted reinterpretations, creating a contemporary update on nostalgic old-world glamour.
